Employer: Snowy Mountains Council Note: John told me the story of being called out regularly to assist with sewage blockages at the new town of Jindabyne. The old town was removed to accomodate Lake Jindabyne and the new town was built on a hill looking over the dam. The brand new sewage system was constucted underground and followed the latest european practices. It had digestors to disintegrate the solids and produce a liguid waste. Unfortunately the europeans did not eat frozen carrots and peas which passed directly into the digestors, blocked them up. The council had to pass a by-law stopping the use of the offending food in the Hotels and resturants in Jindabyne. |
